Hottest game of putt-putt EVER!!

We went to the beach with my sister and her family and my dad and Karen and Chris (Karen's son) for the week of the 4th. We had an amazing time and the kids had a blast. These are pictures from our putt-putt game, which was the hottest thing in the world. I have no idea why it was hotter than anything else down there, but you would have thought they had heaters all around the course. We were all sweating and sticky the whole time, but we had a great time. Note to self - don't take a 17 month old who cares nothing about what you are doing or about golf, but wants to play in the water surrounding everything and all the dirt around the trees, to play putt-putt. Bad plan, Lauren. Bad plan. Oh well...it was fun and Cody won with John just 1 point behind him.

Is this how you play?

The Little Zoo That Could

While we were at the beach, we went to their zoo, which was surprisingly really great. They had tons of animals that the kids could feed and they had a huge selection of animals. The kids all loved it. Everleigh really loved the petting zoo part.

The lion was roaring right in front of us, which was awesome!

Everleigh waving to the lion

The crack in the cement was just as interesting though

Beautiful, hot little face

Cole after a nap and finishing his bottle - happy boy now!

Just thought this one was sweet (I made this little dress, too - it was my first project and what I learned to sew on)

Everyone looking at the camels, I think

Everleigh feeding the animals

She was giggling the whole time

Isabella really loved feeding them. We couldn't leave until she used every piece of the food given to her. :)

Happy 3rd birthday Princess Isabella!!

It's been so long since I've put anything up on here! Oh well...life gets busy. :)

Isabella turned 3 on June 30th this year. Christy and John had a princess party for her and she was the most beautiful princess ever! With heels and everything!
3 years old!!

I just taught myself how to sew and this is one of the things I made. We're going to Disney World in December and I wanted the girls to have matching Minnie Mouse dresses.

Mimi reading a book to Everleigh that night

This was a dress my mom made for me and my sister. We both wore it when we were around 3!! It's sooooo short though! I have no idea how our little bottoms weren't showing out of this dress, but I guess that was the style then. Since I wanted it to be a little longer on Everleigh, she's wearing it now. It makes me so happy to see her in something my mom made and I wore.

Sweet baby Cole! He'll be 1 soon!! Big boy!!

New Kitchen Table!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok...so I wish I could fit 12 rows of exclamation points in the title because that is how excited I am to finally have a new table. Background: I bought a table from K-mart (Yes, it was that long ago that K-mart still existed) when I graduated from college because my roommate and I needed a table and were short on money. Less than $150 for the table and all 4 chairs - seriously. Then, I decided I could be handy and refused offered help from my friend's husband and put the whole table together all by myself. It took me all day, but I put my K-mart table together, b/c I did not need a man (I do now :) and I like it). So...7 years later, Cody and I are still using the cheapest table in history (when you wiped the table, black paint came off on the rag - even after 7 years of wiping) that I put together (and Cody reinforced multiple times) waiting to find the perfect table and for the money for the perfect table. We've looked several times and came close to buying a new table a few times, but nothing ever quite worked out. It was all worth the wait. I am in L-O-V-E. I want to sleep on my new table and hug it and kiss it!!! To make things even better, I told Cody about these amazing barstools that were in the store and how much I loved them. Really, I was just talking, but he said, "Go get them, sweetie. It's fine." Music to my splurging ears!!! For anyone who knows my very budget-friendly husband, this is WAY out of the ordinary for him. I did not question his decision. I wanted the barstools, so I turned around and added them to the truck that was coming to our house with my dream table on board.
So...without further delay, here is my most fabulous new table, chairs, and barstools from Nadeau (please ignore the mess)...
You can't see the detail, but it is beautiful. The barstools are from India and have splotches of green and blue paint on them and the detail on the table is amazing. I love every square inch of every piece!!! YAY!!!!!

Easter Egg Hunt

Everleigh actually did pretty well for her first Easter egg hunt. She had been playing with her eggs all day and knew that the were supposed to go in the basket so I consider that a success! Either way - she had fun and looked cute doing it!

Trying yet again to get a picture in front of some flowers...

until this happened...

which led to this face (I think there were thorns on the roses)

All better once we got inside and opened ANOTHER basket of Easter goodies from PawPaw and Omi K!

My sad attempt to dye Easter eggs - I'll do better next year! :)
