Christy and John visiting and Arkansas trip

Last weekend, Christy (my sister), John (her husband), and Isabella (my niece) came to visit and to see Everleigh. We had a great time! Christy and I got out for a few hours and left the girls at home with John and Cody, which was great because I am never away from Everleigh (not that I really want to be!). It was hard to leave her and I was so glad to see her when I got back, but it was nice to be out for a few hours and get to hang out with my sister. Isabella is so funny and all over the place! She'll be 2 in June. I have really missed her and I was so glad to get to see her all weekend. Also, my sister is pregnant with their second child and they just found out the are having a boy!! They are calling him Cole. It was just my sister and I growing up with no boys in the house and we've both had girls so far, so a boy will definitely be a change, but we can't wait to meet him! And John is so excited to be having a boy.

This past weekend, we went to Arkansas to see Cody's family and go to Ethan and Braxon's birthday parties. It was Ethan's second birthday and Braxon's first. They were both adorable! Ethan didn't care too much for his cake, but I think Braxon ate most of the icing. He was all about it! While we were there, Cody's parents also bought a tree for Everleigh and planted it for her. It was very sweet and it will be great to watch it grow as she does.

What we've been up to...

Sitting at home!! I'm going a little stir crazy. We agreed with it being flu season that we would keep Everleigh in the house for the most part until she was 8 weeks old. She's been out a few places with me during the day, but the vast majority of the time, we stay at home. I cannot wait until we can take her out to church and where ever else we want to go and get back to our lives! Almost there - she was 6 weeks old this past Monday. 1 1/2 more weeks.

We are all doing very well - especially Everleigh. The biggest question Cody and I get asked is, "How is she sleeping?" Well, she's sleeping pretty well. She just went through a little growth spurt so she's been up a little more the past few days, but before that she was consistently sleeping about 5-6 hours in a row at night. Advice for any other new moms - a schedule has been great for us. I read Baby Wise and Baby Whisperer (same schedule in both books) and it has really helped us to get organized and to have some sort of normalcy where we can know what to expect out of our days.

Here are a few pictures of things Everleigh loves to do.

She loves tummy time...

and kisses from Mommy!

She loves watching Cody and me and studying our faces.

Being read to is one of her favorite things

She loves looking out the window - at the fence.

Everleigh is 1 month old!

Everleigh is 1 month old today. I am in shock. When this happens 11 more times, we will be throwing her 1st birthday party and that makes me very sad - and excited. This month has really flown by for me. I feel like it's been a blur of nursing and napping with an occasional shower. She is so fun though - and more than worth it!
Her 1 month doctor's visit was last Wednesday, b/c I wanted to go to a baby shower for one of the girls I work with thrown for her at work (I work with her pediatrician), so we made it a little early at 3 weeks and 2 days. She checked out great! 8 pounds 7 ounces and 21 inches long. 50th percentile for both and gaining more per day than she needs to. Well on her way to being a fat little baby!
Here are a few pictures I took of her today to celebrate being 1 month old. The dress is one my sister and I both wore when we were little, so I wanted a few pictures of her in it. She wasn't very happy about the dress and bow and shoes and let me know about it. I tried to sit her up in the chair and that went over even worse! She did much better being in just a diaper.

The only good shot I got of her in the dress

I think she was getting tired of pictures at this point

It's Bathtime!!

Everleigh now loves her baths, but she didn't really like the first two. Here's a few shots of different baths.

Oh, Chad...

For those of you who know Cody's best friend, Chad, you will understand this. Chad and Meghan came over a day or so after we got home from the hospital to bring us dinner and see Everleigh. I had a breast pump out that I was having to use at the time. Cody and I told Chad that Cody had tried the pump just to see how it felt (although he didn't) and convinced Chad that he really needed to try it, so...here's the evidence we have of when he believed us and tried the breast pump. It was pretty hilarious! We love you, Chad and Meghan!

More pictures of our sweet baby girl

Here are some more pictures. Cody and I love the faces she makes when she stretches. We laugh every time we see them, so I thought I'd put a few of them on here. She's so cute!

Thanks for my Valentine's clothes Granna and Pappi!
